Eating the recommended seven servings of fruits and vegetables per day can be difficult, but mixing them into a smoothie can help you reach that goal. This smoothie from the UC Davis Student Health and Wellness Center not only provides more than a third of your daily fruit and vegetable servings but also fuses all the health benefits of these nutritious foods into one glass. “They’re wonderful for improving your immune system and are great at boosting your energy levels,” said Ryann Miller, dietitian at UC Davis Student Health and Counseling Services.

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz. fresh spinach
  • 8 oz. frozen strawberries
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1-2 bananas
  • 4-5 cups milk

Directions:

Toss all ingredients (except for the frozen strawberries) into a blender and pulse until smooth. Add the frozen strawberries and mix until blended.
