New construction planned on campus encompasses housing, dining, teaching and more.
New Residence Halls
Marking the end of the Cuarto area redevelopment, the new building, called Shasta Hall, replaces the aging 1967 facility with an 800-bed complex slated to be completed in 2022.
The replacement building, Yosemite Hall, increases the bed count to 390; includes a computer center and mailroom; and opens in fall 2019.
The Green at West Village
UC Davis Student Housing will operate nine four-story apartment buildings, adding about 3,300 beds, outdoor community space and recreational fields on 34 acres. The first 1,000 beds are expected to be ready for fall 2020.
Veterinary Medical Center
Equine Performance Center
The project will house Equine Integrated Sports Medicine, client services, an imaging center and related support spaces.
Livestock and Field Services Center
A new facility and renovated buildings will house a variety of livestock services and related support spaces.
All Species Imaging Center
This multiphase project will provide MRIs and more for small and large animals.
Campaign in progress. Completion dates pending.
Student-Athlete Performance Center
This facility will include training facilities, a sports medicine center, offices and a multipurpose natural grass practice field. The field is slated to open fall 2019, with the building construction starting spring 2020.
This 500-seat food hall triples the dining capacity for the Tercero residence halls. The project will be completed in fall 2019.
The pool’s renovation transforms the previous footprint into two pools: one for laps and one for general recreation. It also includes full renovation of the bath house and a new sand volleyball court. The pool reopens this summer.
Teaching and Learning Complex
The area next to the Silo will be home to a multistory general assignment classroom building, providing approximately 2,000 seats and set to open in 2022.
Long vacant, this historic building will be home to Graduate Studies and general-use classrooms after a renovation that also addresses seismic fixes.
It will open in fall 2019.
